Striker Harry Kane helped England beat Bulgaria 4-0 at home to Wembley in the Euro 2020 qualifier on 7/9.

England 4-0 Bulgaria

Kane put the ball into Bulgaria for the first time in the 19th minute, but the referee stretched the flag for Tottenham striker offside. Even so, it only took him four more minutes to celebrate the goal. A mistake by the home side’s backline helped Raheem Sterling to steal the ball, then passed to Kane to cross the corner into the opening goal.

Bulgaria – the team ranked 60th in FIFA and at the end of Group A in the Euro qualifier – almost had no counterattack. The away team suffered a defeat and conceded a goal in the second half. 49 minutes into the match, Marcus Rashford broke through the penalty area and was fouled by defender Nikolay Bodurov. From the penalty spot, Kane decisively takes the lead to 2-0.

The trio attacked Kane, Sterling, and Rashford to continue to increase the score to 3-0 in the 55 minute. Kane catches the opponent’s pass, passing to Rashford. The Man Utd club striker rushed into the middle and released the ball to Kane on the left. Kane caught the ball with a beat, then stretched it to Sterling to close the ball with his thigh into the net.

Kane’s hat-trick was fixed in the 73rd minute, also from the penalty. He was fouled by Kristian Dimitrov in the penalty area and converted the penalty into a goal by himself. In the remaining minutes, Rashford had the opportunity to face but hit the ball on goalkeeper Plamen Liev. But, the 4-0 victory still ensures Gareth Southgate’s teachers and students lead Group A with three wins. Second place unexpectedly belongs to Kosovo – the team also won the Czech Republic 2-1 on 7/9.
